1. Overview
This privacy policy explains how CineVoid, a Meta Quest media player published by Bald & Bold Studios, handles information. CineVoid plays media from sources you select, including Plex, DLNA/UPnP and SMB servers.
2. Information stored on your headset
The app stores the following information locally so its features can work:
- A Plex authentication token after you link your Plex account.
- SMB server addresses, share names, usernames and passwords that you choose to save.
- Playback history, favourites and preferences such as screen, subtitle and audio settings.
Plex authentication tokens and SMB passwords are encrypted using a key protected by the Android Keystore on your headset. Local information is removed when you sign out of Plex, remove a configured share, clear the app's data, or uninstall CineVoid, as applicable.
3. Network connections
CineVoid only makes connections needed for features you choose to use:
- Meta platform services may be contacted to verify app entitlement and provide operating-system functionality. Meta handles that information under its own privacy terms.
plex.tvis contacted over HTTPS when you link Plex and discover your Plex servers. Plex handles that information under its own privacy terms.- Your selected Plex, DLNA/UPnP and SMB servers are contacted to browse and stream your media.
Media streams directly between your selected server and your headset. Bald & Bold Studios does not proxy, host or inspect those streams. Unencrypted HTTP access is disabled by default and, if you enable it in CineVoid, is limited to user-selected devices on private or local networks. Public HTTP destinations remain blocked.
4. Website and support
Website
This website does not use analytics, advertising trackers or cookies. Like most web hosting services, the hosting infrastructure may temporarily process technical server-log information such as an IP address, browser identifier, requested page and time of access for security, reliability and abuse prevention.
Support messages
If you use the support form or email support, we receive the information you voluntarily include, such as your name, email address, device details and diagnostic information. The support form sends this information directly to our support mailbox and does not store it in a website database. We use it only to respond, investigate the issue and maintain a limited support history. Do not send passwords, Plex tokens, private server addresses or copyrighted media files.
5. Retention and your choices
App data remains on your headset until you remove the relevant account or share, clear the app data, or uninstall CineVoid. Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain support records or meet legal obligations.
You may ask us to access, correct or delete personal information contained in support correspondence. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights and the right to contact your local data-protection authority.
CineVoid is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
